Application, Selection and Admission

The first step in the application process is to download or collect the Application Form from PCHM or nearest hotel of the Group or from Corporate office at Bangalore.

Application fee is Rs. 500/- by Cash or DD in favour of Presidency College of Hotel Management.

PCHM has two intakes for graduate/ diploma and specialization courses. Courses usually start in August and February every year.

Students are expected to make a commitment to the program of study and complete it within the given time frame. As all the programs are professional, 100 % attendance is required. Students can only be granted time off for legitimate reasons such as medical and family emergencies.

Academic Facilities

PCHM uses the industry-endorsed curriculum as per university norms. In addition, students are also required to complete various professional workshops, assignments, presentation, projects and internship.

Yes, through collaboration and association that we have developed with our partner universities which specialize in the relevant management training programmes, graduates of PCHM are guaranteed acceptance into their Bachelor's degree programmes.

The courses conducted at PCHM are in conformity with International hospitality education under the aegis which has components from the university.

The classes are held at PCHM Campus, located within Hotel Royal Orchid, a 5 star hotel in Bangalore near to the commercial hub of Bangalore on the Old Airport Road and also at other hospitality facilities such as selected hotels of the group and others in India & abroad for internship.

The courses being delivered at PCHM are purely hospitality oriented and of international standard. The Institute is founded by ROHL, a growing Hotel group with 37 hotels at present and more to come who provide help and assistance in multifarious activities such as infrastructure, academic, industrial exposure/training and placement.

The student-to-faculty ratio in labs is about 12:1 and in classrooms it is nearly 24:1. Students have extensive opportunities for hands-on experience through internships in Group hotels and lab work. The equipment and facilities at PCHM are all state-of-the-art.

Future Job Opportunities

According to a research study and official statistical data, positions for first line supervisors/managers are estimated to grow by 20 % nationwide. The first opportunity of in-house and standalone properties placement within the Group as well with other leading National and International chains.

In 2014, the national average salary for first line supervisors / managers was Rs. 28,500 plus fringe benefits.

Job opportunities are available in the Hotel / Restaurant / Clubs / Casinos / Cruise Line / Airlines / Retails / Hospital / Financial Institutions / MNC's/Facility management etc.

The Counselling and Placement cell of PCHM offers a wide variety of career assistance to students. Services include career expos, resume and interview preparation, and on and off-campus interviews. 100% assistance in employment is provided after successful completion of the course.

Internships are practical work experiences where students apply their hospitality service and supervisory skills in restaurants, clubs, hotels, and resorts. In most cases, internships are paid work experiences.

Since the students will be studying and working at the hotels during the entire length of the internship, they will get to know the hotel staff and will have the opportunity to find out directly from staff members what life is like working in the hospitality field. In fact, some of the hotel staff may be guest lecturers for some of the courses.

About half the time is spent in class and the other half is spent working in Labs: roughly 3 hours of studying and 4 hours of practical training

Students may approach any hotel /tourist center in India or any country abroad to get industrial exposure. The student is responsible for his/her own travel arrangements from PCHM Campus to destination and back.

We also place students for short term training at different types of hotel properties, including high end ranches, resorts. Through our strong industry connection, we have the flexibility and resources to assist students in meeting their needs.

Academic subjects, such as Mathematics, English and Science are highly recommended but not mandatory. Technical courses in food preparation, if available, are recommended, but not required, to enter the programme.

The Hospitality Management Diploma program from AHLEI is a world recognized and industry accepted Diploma Programme. Accreditation is a rigorous process that is intended to ensure that the programme's faculty, facilities, equipment, and curriculum meet the quality standards set by education and industry leaders.

Professionalism is stressed throughout the Hospitality Management Programme; therefore, students are required to wear both professional and protective uniforms while in the campus as well as in labs as prescribed by the Institute.

Students in the Hospitality Management Programme are provided with many opportunities to gain practical experience. Starting in the first semester, students get hands-on experience in food preparation and table service. During semester break, students may practice in a hotel, restaurant, resort or country club. In the final two semesters, students practice wine and beverage service and dining room management in our restaurant.
